Have a read of how Connor described his week at Val di Sole including what happened during his race run;

After round one in South Africa we had a two month break to go home and relax. I wouldnat get this opportunity through the rest of the season, so I trained pretty hard at home. The next trip would be almost 4 months long with 6 World cups. The first was Val Di Sole which I was looking forward to. I had my best result of 2011 there and I really liked the track…

The track had a few changes made making it slightly less difficult in my
opinion. I felt really good through practice. The track became extremely rough with massive ruts and holes cut out through the deep loam. When qualifying rolled around I felt confident and just put a solid run down without risking throwing it away. I ended up in 47th which I was happy with. I knew I could improve so I made a few changes to my lines and kept having fun really.

A smart qualifying run saw Connor in 47th place, his final run didn't quite go to plan but still ended up improving his position to 41st. Photo: Jacob Gibbins

Before my race run I warmed up well and my Kona Operator felt good. I rode really well for the first half of the track. In one section I hit a big g-out a lot harder than I did in practice and my tired arms couldnat hold me up. I lost my feet and headed for a tree. I remember thinking thereas no way I can hold this. I
shouldered the tree but somehow managed to keep it upright. For the rest of the
run I was pretty shaken but got down to the bottom. I finished 41st which is a okay result considering my run but knew I could of done better. Iam off
to WC #3 at Fort William and looking to climb up the ranks a bit more.

Watch out for Connor’s race report after the next round in Fort William.
