Inside Info: Connor Fearon – Mont Sainte Anne

You can bet Connor was loving the dusty conditions at Mont Sainte Anne, read what he has to say! Photo: Jacob Gibbins

Connor Fearon had a good weeekend at Mount Sainte Anne taking care of business. Read more on what he had to say about it all…

After Val Di Sole and Fort Bill were done and dusted everybody had a weekend off
before the MSA World Cup. I flew back to Bromont, Quebec and rode a lot of downhill in the bike park and chilled out in the water park as well to mix things up a bit. Before I knew it the team was on the road driving to Mont St Anne only about 3 hours from Bromont.

Last year this race was my first World Cup and I got a pretty good result of 44th
despite having a crash in the bottom section so I knew I could do well here. The track this year was pretty much the same although they re-routed the top corners straight down the ski slope which made for some cool high speed action.

We absolutely love this photo, Connor Fearon pinned, rocks, Canadian woods, Sunshine and dust, what is there not to like! Photo: Jacob Gibbins

Practice and qualifying went really well for me the whole time I couldnat keep a smile off my face. The track was dusty which is what Iam used to back home. I
qualified 28th which is my best qualifier so far.A On Saturday it rained quite heavily and practice was slow and muddy. I had my fingers crossed that it would dry up for racing the next day. The gods must have heard me praying because by my race run the track was in perfect condition!

Determination! track conditions for racing were awesome to. Photo: Jacob Gibbins

My race run was really good. I hit all my lines and kept it pretty smooth. My arms
faded towards the bottom and I kept dragging my brakes through some of the
crucial rock garden sections that I was riding really well in practice. This showed in my split times where I kept losing positions. I finished in 28th position which I am happy with.ANow that Iave done this result Iave set the benchmark at a top 20 result, hopefully at one of the World Cups this year. Iave been improving significantly from the first World Cup this year where I was outside 60th to now breaking into the top 30 so I know the goal is achievable!

Lets hope Connor gets this top 20Aat the next round in Windham!
