South Australian State Series – Round 3 – Melrose

Melrose is always a good event on the South Australian racing calendar, the track's not bad either! Photo: Matt Bird

The third race of the South Australian downhill series was the ‘away race’ at Melrose in the FlindersARangers Region, three and a half hours away from Adelaide.

The track itself was quite short but did have a good mix of technical features, wide open corners, jumps and straight out speed. It was quite a surprise to see German mountain bike legend Jasper Jauch at Melrose and racing! He was in town a week prior for the mountain bike festival and decided to race.

The track was dusty, even after the rain that fell on Saturday. Photo: Matt Bird
