One of the big highlights at Crankworx is the Canadian Open, this race is on a pure World Cup quality track. Check out some of the amazingAphotos and no doubt you will agree.

The technical nature of the track meant many riders crashed or simply didn’t enter. Names like Brosnan, Leov, Kovarik were just some of the notable DNS on the start sheet. For Australia, Troy Brosnan was still recovering from his injuries in a bid to be 100% for World Championships and Chris Kovarik crashed earlier in the week and couldn’t start.

Hecklers Rock… Say no more! It is one of the best spectating events for any downhill fan anywhere! The atmosphere is amazing as riders launch a jump into the main crowd viewing area shortly before heading down one of the biggest rock roll ins on the mountain. Photo: Owen Perry

Connor FearonAhad a crash during practice that landed him in hospital, the good news is that he will be back and fit for World Championships. Connor’s teammate Mitch Delfs put in for the crowd by throwing out some horns during his race run! Talking about racing, it was Canadian Stevie Smith who took the victory, this was the third race victory at Crankworx this year, the locals loved it!

1. Stevie Smith 2.44.80

2. Mic Hannah 2.49.44 + 4.64

3. Andrew Neethling 2.50.41 + 5.61

4. Marc Beaumont 2.50.94 + 6.14

5. Mark Wallace 2.51.05 + 6.25
