***This interview was done just before Troy’s routine scrub didn’t go to plan in Austria. Leogang is where Troy hadAa big victory last year and that would have been a big confidence booster for this years World Championships. For now the important thing is that Troy gets healthy, plus we all remember what Sam Hill did in 2010 at Mont Sainte Anne coming back from injury. They say how you get back up is the true mark of a champion, something which Troy no doubt is. Read on for an insight to Troys plans for this season.***

South Australian State Series – Round 2 – Fox Bowl

Connor Fearon had the skills to take the victory at Fox Bowl in his last race before he heads overseas.

Race 2 of the South Australian State Series was held at Fox Creek, on the legendary Bowl track, in awesome conditions for racing! The track had a visit from the ‘trail pixies’ just a week prior to the race. The main changes were extending the triple, altering the corner after it and adding a nice swooping berm as you turn onto the track.

Inside Info: Carbon Specialized Demo

Remember the carbon S-Works bikes from the 2011 World Championships' in Champery?

In what might be a world exclusive, Downhill247.com can confirm that Specialized is launching their new Carbon Demo at the Val Di Sole World Cup in June. A highly appropriate venue considering the extremely technical nature of the track.AThese bikes have been known about for a while (we saw them in the flesh at last years World Champs) but there has been no more information provided. Even the team riders were told not to say a word about the bikes. At this years first World Cup in South Africa the riders bikes were stored out of the prying view of cameras. Specialized has been extremely cagey in regards to these bikes, however after seeing these bikes in the flesh and having seen a photo of the team bikes, we have a fair idea of what to expect when these get released… More inside.

Angus Maddern Update

We are keen to see Angus Maddern back on the bike ASAP, he is such an awesome rider to watch!

We have heard that Angus Maddern (who we did anAInside Info on Here) had surgery on his shoulder this week. Angus was out filming with Sean Anderson for his new film ‘AboveAThe Noise’ when Angus came around a corner, drifted and shouldered a tree! After hearing the noise and seeing the footage of Angus going from full speed to a standstill he was lucky to not haveAserious injuries.AWe are hoping he recovers quick and we can’t wait to see him back on the bike.

2012 Newton’s Nation

It was awesome to see Josh Button back on the bike at Newtons Nation, second place is not too shabby for someone who had knee surgery just over 6 months ago! Photo: Edwin Emmerick.

Newton’s Nation is a stand alone event held at mount Panorama, New South Wales, in conjunction with a range of other ‘extreme sports’. It also has live music at night, camping and what not but it is the downhill we are interested in. The track itself is quiteAshort, under 1.20 for the fastest riders but with $2000 up for grabs for first place a lot of riders were looking to take care of business!
